PEGASUS GALLERY OF CANADIAN ART presents

Feeding the Spirit: Rattles, Bowls and Spoons

The Pegasus Gallery of Canadian Art continues its First Thursday gallery talks this month with an engaging conversation—along with a show and tell—about three important Northwest Coast artifacts important to the home and ceremonial life of the coastal tribes. Using examples from the gallery inventory spanning over 150 years, gallery owner Ian Sigvaldason will discuss the significance, design, function and creation of these exquisite objects and what distinguishes the work of each tribe.

Everyone is welcome to join us at the First Thursday Talk on February 2nd, 2012 from 6pm to 8pm in the gallery.

To support the talk, a selected exhibit of northwest coast rattles, bowls and spoons from the gallery inventory will be on display through the end of February.

First Thursdays: Informative Monthly Art Talks at the Gallery

Pegasus Gallery is excited to announce a new monthly programme of informal, yet informative talks. On the first Thursday of each month, the gallery will host a presentation about a unique facet of the art world. Come and learn more about Canadian art movements, First Nations art, how art is created, and how the art market operates. Join us for a lively discussion and refreshments.

First Thursdays are held from 6pm–8pm on the first Thursday of each month at Pegasus Gallery. For details on upcoming talks, visit the Events page.
