Wade Stephen Baker (Mintle-e-da-us) is descended from Kwakuitl, Tlingit and Coast Salish First Nation's nobility. He traces his lineage from Robert Hunt , who married a Tlingit princess from Alaska, and lived in Fort Rupert in the 1800s and John Baker who married the sister of Chief Capilano in the early 1900s.

Wade Baker is a renowned sculptor and graphic artist and produces a range of silkscreen prints, totempoles and cedar giftware all created from a philosophy of historical tradition, comfort and healing.

His double wolf crest was chosen by the Royal Canadian Mint out of 60,000 designs to produce the Millenium Quarter in 2000. He affixes one of these quarters as part of his signature in each of his carved masks.
