Gordon Edward Pfeiffer was born in Quebec City in 1899. He studied with A. Bonham in Quebec City and in Paris. He was influenced by Horatio Walker, Andre Bieler, and Robert Pilot. He travelled and painted in England, Newfoundland, and Quebec, especially on the Ile dOrleans and in the region of Charlevoix.

Using different media, he is known for his rosy-hued landscapes, Quebec City scenes and nudes. He moved to Montreal in 1943. Pfeiffer exhibited with the RCA in 1927-1952, and the AAM/MMF in 1928-1954.
